Softball Recap: Portsmouth Christian Academy Drops Season-High Score on Farmington

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Portsmouth Christian Academy). They put the hurt on the Farmington Tigers with a sharp 25-6 win on Thursday. With that victory, the Eagles brought their scoring average up to 7.6 runs per game.

Makayla Spurr made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over five innings while giving up four earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. Spurr was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs, one double, and one RBI. She also got a hit, marking her first of the season.

In other batting news, Portsmouth Christian Academy got a massive performance out of Shanelle Gray, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs and three RBI. Those three RBI gave Gray a new career-high. Isabella Stevens was another key player, going 1-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one double.

Portsmouth Christian Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .644. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The win got Portsmouth Christian Academy back to even at 4-4. As for Farmington, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.
