Soccer Game Preview: Covert vs. New Buffalo

Covert hasn't had much luck against New Buffalo recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Bulldogs will head out to face off against the Bison at 6:00 p.m. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Monday just wasn't the day for Covert's offense. They lost 9-0 to Michigan Lutheran last Monday. While losing is never fun, Covert can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan soccer rankings (they are ranked 417th, while Michigan Lutheran are ranked 173rd).

Meanwhile, New Buffalo kept a clean sheet against Our Lady of the Lake Catholic on Monday. They had just enough and edged out the Lakers 1-0. The result kept New Buffalo happy, as they haven't lost a game since April 17th.

New Buffalo picked up their first home victory, bumping their record up to 4-2-2. As for Covert, their loss dropped their record down to 1-6.

Covert came up short against New Buffalo in their previous meeting back in May of 2025, falling 2-0. Can the Bulldogs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
