Estero has no trouble against Lakewood Ranch

Recap: Estero Wildcats vs. Lakewood Ranch Mustangs
On Friday, Estero greeted the New Year with with a 52-38 win over Lakewood Ranch. The win was all the more spectacular given Estero's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 568th, while Lakewood Ranch is ranked 269th).
Estero had a senior duo take command as Brady Knutson scored 23 points along with five rebounds and Drew Arrington scored 16 points along with eight rebounds. That makes it 12 consecutive games in which Knutson has scored at least 25% of Estero's points. Lee Eckman was another key contributor, scoring two points along with six assists.
Estero's win bumped their record up to 7-10. As for Lakewood Ranch, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-8.
Estero will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Island Coast at 4:30 p.m. on January 5th. Hopefully Island Coast focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 two weeks ago. Lakewood Ranch and Braden River will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 8th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Braden River knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past ten matchups -- so hopefully Lakewood Ranch likes a good challenge.
