Basketball Game Preview: Lake Stevens Vikings vs. Mariner Marauders

The Lake Stevens Vikings will head out on the road to take on the Mariner Marauders at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Lake Stevens is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They claimed a resounding 83-53 victory over Cascade. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Vikings.

Meanwhile, Mariner had already won three in a row and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They snuck past the Knights with a 61-57 win.

Lake Stevens' victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 4-7. As for Mariner, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Lake Stevens beat Mariner 61-50 when the teams last played back in February of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lake Stevens since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
