Basketball Recap: Buckhorn Skates Past Bartow with Ease

Buckhorn had to skate by with only a three-point margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 29-point drubbing they dealt Bartow on Saturday. The Buckhorn Bucks claimed a resounding 75-46 victory over the Bartow Yellow Jackets. Given the Bucks' advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked fifth in Alabama, while the Yellow Jackets are ranked 107th in Florida), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

When it comes to explaining why Bartow lost, don't look at Ja'Kylen Crossley. Despite the final result, he went 6 of 14 en route to 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan Brinson, who posted eight points along with nine rebounds and three steals.

The win was the fourth in a row for Buckhorn, bringing their record for this year to 10-4. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.3 points per game. As for Bartow, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-3.

Buckhorn didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 61-45 victory against Florence on the 26th. As for Bartow, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, an 81-80 defeat against Norcross on the 27th.
