Baseball Recap: Centennial Triumphs

Centennial won the last time they faced Northland and things went their way on Friday too. The Stars came out on top against the Vikings by a score of 9-5.

Max Burt made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. He has become a key player for Centennial: the team is 3-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-5 otherwise. Burt was even better at the plate, going 1-for-3 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2025.

In other batting news, Isaac Putnam was incredible, going 2-for-3 with five stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Centennial is undefeated when Putnam posts two or more runs, but 3-6 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Alton Corbett, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

The win got Centennial back to even at 6-6. As for Northland, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-4.

Coming up, Centennial will welcome Hamilton Township at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Northland, they will venture away from home to square off against East at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
