Baseball Game Preview: Montwood Rams vs. Socorro Bulldogs

Montwood is 8-2 against Socorro since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. Montwood is taking a road trip to take on Socorro at 6:30 p.m. Montwood will be strutting in after a victory while Socorro will be coming in after a defeat.

Montwood took a 13-run loss the last time they faced off against Eastwood, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Montwood narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Eastwood 7-6. The victory was some much needed relief for the Rams as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Juan Garcia was excellent, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs he has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Joziah Gutierrez, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Socorro suffered their biggest defeat since February 17th on Saturday. They came up short against Coronado, falling 14-2.

Montwood's win bumped their record up to 10-11-2. As for Socorro, their loss dropped their record down to 9-11.

Montwood took their victory against Socorro in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 6-0. Does Montwood have another victory up their sleeve, or will Socorro turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
