Basketball Recap: Apple Valley Has No Trouble Against Western

Apple Valley picked up another tournament win on Saturday. They wrapped up 2024 with a 62-48 win over the Western Pioneers. The game marked the Sun Devils' most dominant victory of the season.

Apple Valley's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Trey Germany, who posted 20 points. Germany's afternoon made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Jeremiah Wilkerson was another key player, putting up 16 points.

The win got Apple Valley back to even at 7-7. As for Western, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-13.

Apple Valley and Big Bear will round out the year against one another at at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Big Bear knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully Apple Valley likes a good challenge. As for Western, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Santa Ana Valley at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
