Softball Recap: Nine Straight Home Victories for Greensburg

There's no place like home for Greensburg, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out the Franklin County Wildcats 2-1 on Thursday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 1-0 on May 5th.

Harper Adams spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits and racked up 16 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than ten strikeouts in 14 consecutive appearances.

Greensburg's win was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-5. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Franklin County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-11.

Greensburg didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 7-5 win against South Dearborn on the 23rd. Franklin County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
