Soccer Game Preview: Columbiana vs. Columbia

The Columbiana Clippers will take on the Columbia Raiders at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Columbiana will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.

Columbiana can't be too worried about heading out to take on Columbia: they just beat Bristol at home, who had been dominant on their own pitch up to that point. While the 2-2 score might suggest a draw, it was the Clippers who were credited with the victory on Thursday. Columbiana got it done in the shootout by posting four goals to Bristol's one.

Annah Clemmer and Josie Hepler scored both of the Clippers' goals, bringing their combined season tally to 38 goals.

On Wednesday, Columbia needed a bit of extra time to put away Mapleton. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Mounties 2-1. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but Columbia were the better team in the second half.

Columbiana's record now sits at 11-5-3. As for Columbia, their record is now 14-4-1.
