Basketball Recap: Bayport-Blue Point Falls Short of Mount Sinai in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Bayport-Blue Point can now relate to. They lost 85-65 to the Mount Sinai Mustangs on Wednesday. The Phantoms were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mustangs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Dominic Pennzello continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Mount Sinai, almost dropping a double-double with 43 points and nine boards. The game was Pennzello's 12th in a row with at least 15 points. Brian Vales was another key player, dropping a double-double with 18 points and 12 rebounds.

Bayport-Blue Point has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-5 record this season. Mount Sinai is on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 16 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-2 record this season.

Bayport-Blue Point does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mount Sinai, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 75-67 win against Southampton on the 11th.
