Football Game Preview: Broadway Gobblers vs. William Monroe Dragons + How To Watch

The Broadway Gobblers will face off against the William Monroe Dragons at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Broadway's defense has only allowed 12.1 points per game this season, so William Monroe's offense will have their work cut out for them.

On Friday, Broadway was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 27-21 to Turner Ashby. Despite 215 more yards than the Knights, the Gobblers couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.

Broadway's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Landon Fox, who picked up 187 receiving yards and one touchdown, and Tanner Hinkle, who threw for 266 yards and one TD while picking up 12.1 yards per attempt.

Don't try to pin the team's loss on the defense: they kept the trenches locked down and allowed a mere 2.7 yards per carry. Sadly, that's becoming something of a trend for Broadway; they were averaging 7.6yards per carry per game earlier this season, but in their last three games they've fallen to only 0 per game.

Meanwhile, William Monroe was not able to break out of their rough patch last Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a 37-6 loss at the hands of Turner Ashby. The contest marked the Dragons' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

William Monroe's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Broadway, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 6-1.
