Soccer Game Preview: Valley vs. Ankeny

The Valley Tigers will be defending their home pitch for the first time this season when they go up against the Ankeny Hawks at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Valley's last three games have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Valley's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out Iowa City West 1-0.

Meanwhile, Ankeny didn't have quite enough to beat Dowling Catholic on Friday and fell 4-3. The defeat continues a trend for Ankeny in their meetings with Dowling Catholic: they've now lost three in a row.

Valley's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Ankeny, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.

Valley suffered a grim 4-0 defeat to Ankeny when the teams last played back in May of 2021. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
