            Baseball Recap: Plainfield North Tigers vs. Lincoln-Way West Warriors        
        
		
        
        
            Plainfield North extended their losing streak  to three  on Monday, dropping their season record down to 22-12 in the process. They were a single  run away from ending the streak, but they lost  a   5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Lincoln-Way West Warriors. If the Tigers were looking for revenge after losing  10-0 to the Warriors when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.
As for Lincoln-Way West, they have  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won 13 of their last 15 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 27-7 record  this season. Those  victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games.
For Lincoln-Way West's part,  Adam Gerl looked comfortable as he  pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off   one  hit. Gerl has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't  given up  more than two  hits in four consecutive appearances.
 At the plate,  Jackson Mansker was  incredible,  getting on base  in four of his five plate appearances with one  triple, two  RBI,  and one  run. That's the most  RBI  he has posted since back in April.  Conor Essenburg was another key player,  going 3-for-5 with two  runs and one  double.
As of now, neither Plainfield North nor Lincoln-Way West have any future games scheduled.
