The Donna Redskins will square off against the Nixon Mustangs at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. Donna is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.3 runs per game this season.

Donna took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They never let Juarez-Lincoln get on the board and left with a 9-0 win. While the Redskins didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-18), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Donna got a great performance from Max Torres as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only a hit while striking out nine over six innings pitched.

Meanwhile, Nixon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against Weslaco, falling 8-0. The game marked the first time this season in which the Mustangs were not able to get on the board.

Donna's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-2. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 runs over those games. As for Nixon, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.

Nixon's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Donna hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .341.
