Baseball Game Preview: Las Lomas Knights vs. Sonoma Valley Dragons

The Las Lomas Knights will challenge the Sonoma Valley Dragons at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Sonoma Valley took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Las Lomas, who comes in off a win.

Las Lomas barely beat Albany the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Las Lomas put the hurt on Albany with a sharp 9-3 victory on Wednesday. The win continues a trend for the Knights in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now won three in a row.

Las Lomas got a great performance from Noah Sison as he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Sison also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Las Lomas is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 1-2-1 otherwise.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jack Foscalina, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Jack Pardella, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Sonoma Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of Justin-Siena.

Luciano Hernandez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on four hits.

On the hitting side, Sonoma Valley saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Wyatt Hinman, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

The victory got Las Lomas back to even at 3-3-1. As for Sonoma Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 2-9.
