Softball Recap: Stevenson Drops Highest Score of Season Against Clarenceville

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Stevenson). Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Clarenceville Trojans a 21-0 shutout on Saturday. Considering the Spartans have won eight matches by more than nine runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

The win made it two in a row for Stevenson and bumps their season record up to 11-4-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.0 runs over those games. As for Clarenceville, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-13.

Looking ahead, Stevenson will venture away from home to face off against Churchill at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Spartans 2.7, the Chargers 3.2) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Clarenceville, they will square off against Glenn at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Rockets have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.05 runs per game on average), something the Trojans will no doubt try to take advantage of.
