Soccer Recap: St. Thomas More Comes Up Short

After flying high against Illinois Valley Central on Friday, St. Thomas More came back down to earth. The Sabers came up short against the Mattoon Greenwave on Monday, falling 5-1. The loss continues a trend for St. Thomas More in their meetings with Mattoon: they've now lost four in a row.

St. Thomas More's goal came courtesy of Leighton Clark, who's now up to 16 this season.

St. Thomas More's defeat dropped their record down to 10-6. As for Mattoon, the win made it two in a row for them and also bumps their season record up to 10-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Thomas More will host Bloomington Central Catholic at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mattoon, they will be playing at home against Normal West at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
