Basketball Recap: Northwood Academy's Luck Changes for the Better on Friday

Northwood Academy's game last Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They walked away with a 70-62 win over Palmetto Christian Academy. The victory was some much needed relief for the Chargers as it spelled an end to their 13-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Northwood Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Christian Mcgill out in front who went 7 of 14 on his way to 20 points along with six steals and five assists. With that strong performance, Mcgill is now averaging an impressive 2.1 steals per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Eli Cosman, who went 9 for 21 en route to 23 points and six steals.

Northwood Academy's victory ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-7. As for Palmetto Christian Academy, they dropped their record down to 0-7 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Cathedral Academy the next time they take the court. Northwood Academy will head out to face Cathedral Academy at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, while Palmetto Christian Academy will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on December 20th.
