Baseball Recap: Tularosa Picks Up Seventh Straight Win at Home

Tularosa's found some homefield redemption this week after a overtime loss to Ruidoso on Thursday. Tularosa came out on top against the Mescalero Apache Chiefs by a score of 9-5. The win continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Chiefs: they've now won seven in a row.

Ayden Esquero was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (three). He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Cameron Holguin was incredible, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. That stolen base marked the first that he snagged this season. Another player making a difference was Hunter Sewell, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI.

Tularosa pushed their record up to 2-4 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.3 runs over those games. As for Mescalero Apache, their record is now 2-6.
