The Princess Anne Cavaliers will face off against the Kempsville Chiefs at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Princess Anne 3.4, Kempsville 3.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Princess Anne is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Salem a 19-0 shutout on Tuesday. The Cavaliers have beaten the Sundevils the last seven times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Sundevils has come to flipping the script.

Walt Clevenger was a major factor no matter where he played. He kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one double.
In other batting news, Reid Vandergrift was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, seven RBI, and two runs. He is becoming a predictor of Princess Anne's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 5-6 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Aidan McKeating, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, one triple, and one RBI.
Princess Anne kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Salem didn't got any hits.
Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Kempsville's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They wound up with the same score they had in their last game (3-2), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time.
Darian Hill was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Those three hits allowed gave him a new career-low.
At the plate, Kempsville saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bryce Hoffer, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI.
Princess Anne pushed their record up to 8-6 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Kempsville, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-6.
Princess Anne skirted past Kempsville 4-3 in their previous matchup back in March. Will the Cavaliers repeat their success, or do the Chiefs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
