Basketball Recap: Brandon Williams' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Lanham Christian over Clinton Grace Christian

Lanham Christian made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Clinton Grace Christian, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Lions fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 65-62 on Monday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Saturday (56), the Lions still had to take the loss.

Several Lions players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Brandon Williams, who almost dropped a double-double with 24 points and nine boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Sidikh Sylla, who almost dropped a double-double with 12 points and nine rebounds.

Having lost for the first time this season, Lanham Christian fell to 2-1. As for Clinton Grace Christian, their record now sits at 10-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lanham Christian will be home for the holidays to greet Calverton at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Clinton Grace Christian, they will host Rosedale Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Eagles will be up against the Rosedale Panthers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 69.6 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
