Basketball Game Preview: Cary Christian Knights vs. St. David's Warriors

Cary Christian hasn't had much luck against St. David recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Cary Christian Knights will host the St. David's Warriors at 5:45 p.m.

Cary Christian is headed into the matchup having just suffered their biggest loss since January 3, 2024 on Monday. They were beaten by South Wake 73-28. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 293rd, while the Sabres are ranked 20th).

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for St. David's, who bounced back after a loss on the road back in December of 2024. They walked away with a 43-33 win over Wake Christian Academy on Tuesday.

Cary Christian better keep an eye on Eliza Everett. She was instrumental in St. David's win, dropping a double-double on 15 points and ten boards. That's the most points Everett has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Anna Hauser, who posted 11 points and three steals.

St. David's has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 25.4 points per game. As for Cary Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-5.

Cary Christian was dealt a bruising 53-22 loss at the hands of St. David's in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. Can Cary Christian avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
