Football Recap: Northfield Takes a Loss

Northfield fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Heritage on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They were just a hair shy of victory and fell 32-31 to the Eagles. Even if the Nighthawks couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their offense, which had struggled int the games prior.

Mo Thenell went supernova For Heritage., rushing for 120 yards and a pair of scores, while also picking up 37 receiving yards. Another player making a difference was Parker Terch, who picked up 105 receiving yards and one TD.

Northfield's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 1-2. As for Heritage, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Looking ahead, Northfield will square off against Pueblo East at 7:00 p.m. on the 19th. As for Heritage, they will be playing at home against Mesa Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
