St. Mary was the  3-2 winner over Cactus Shadows when they last played one another  on October 8th, but their luck changed this time around. The Knights fell just short of the Falcons by a score of  3-2 on Monday. The Knights' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
 In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, St. Mary's sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 24-26, 25-22, 25-27,  15-11.
 Mylee McDowell paced St. Mary's offense, picking up 20 kills. McDowell got some help from  Layla Santa Cruz De La Cruz and her 27 assists.  Nellie Coover controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.
  Gabby Procopio was nothing short of spectacular for Cactus Shadows: she  had 32  digs and five  aces. That's the most  aces  Procopio has posted since back in August.
St. Mary's defeat dropped their record down to 18-9. As for Cactus Shadows, the  win was  the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 17-6.
 St. Mary's didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next  matchup,  a  3-0  loss against Saguaro on the 29th. As for Cactus Shadows, they have also already played their next contest,  a  3-0  victory against Mesquite on the 28th.
