Softball Recap: St. Marys Flying Dutch vs. Redbank Valley Bulldogs
Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask St. Marys). They blew past the Redbank Valley Bulldogs 13-1 on Wednesday. Considering the Flying Dutch have won seven games by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Avery Eckels was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over five innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Molly Hanslovan, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaylen Eozzo, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.
