Softball Recap: Trinity Lutheran Cougars vs. Brownstown Central Braves

Trinity Lutheran was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 14-4 to the Brownstown Central Braves. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Trinity Lutheran of the 1-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2023.

Trinity Lutheran saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Grace Lance, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

On Brownstown Central's side, Rylee May made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing six innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits. May was even better at the plate, going 2-for-4 with a home run, three RBI, and a stolen base.

In other batting news, Brownstown Central got a massive performance out of Adelynn Anderson, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Brooke Meahl, who scored two runs while going 4-for-5.

Trinity Lutheran's defeat dropped their record down to 11-8. As for Brownstown Central, the win got them back to even at 11-11.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Trinity Lutheran is on the road again on Monday to play Milan at 5:30 p.m. As for Brownstown Central, they will challenge Paoli at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Paoli is on a six-game streak of home losses, Brownstown Central a seven-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change.
