Basketball Recap: Pace Falls Despite Big Games from Bre Nelson and Rebecca Ruiz

Pace lost against Edcouch-Elsa back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Pace Vikings fell 32-25 to the Edcouch-Elsa Yellowjackets. The Vikings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the defeat, Pace had strong showings from Rebecca Ruiz, who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine boards, and Bre Nelson, who posted six points along with six boards and five steals. The dominant performance gave Ruiz a new career-high in points.

Pace's loss dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Edcouch-Elsa, their victory bumped their record up to 5-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pace will head out to square off against Lopez at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Lopez will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Pace surely won't give up without a fight. As for Edcouch-Elsa, they will head out on the road to face off against Harlingen South at 7:30 p.m. on December 17th.
