Baseball Game Preview: South Jones Braves vs. Pearl River Central Blue Devils

For the second straight game, South Jones will face off against Pearl River Central. The Braves will take on the Blue Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. South Jones is coming into the game hot, having won their last seven games.

South Jones proved they can win big on Friday (they won by ten) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Pearl River Central, sneaking past 9-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Braves have posted since March 13th.

Logan Langley looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Dylan Causey was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Eyan Butler, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

South Jones' win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-6. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Pearl River Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-9.
