Baseball Recap: Meridian Takes a Loss

Meridian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They lost 11-3 to the Rocky Mountain Grizzlies. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Warriors of the 9-5 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Caleb Boydston made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Meridian's defeat dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Rocky Mountain, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 12-4.

Looking ahead, Meridian will venture away from home to square off against Bishop Kelly at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Warriors will need to watch out since the Knights have now posted at least ten runs in their last three matchups. As for Rocky Mountain, they are taking a road trip to face off against Middleton at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Grizzlies' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Vikings have averaged an impressive 6.5 runs per game this season.
