Basketball Game Preview: Asbury Rams vs. Whitesburg Christian Academy Warriors

The Asbury Rams and the Whitesburg Christian Academy Warriors will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Asbury is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They breezed by Brindlee Mountain to the tune of 71-32 on Tuesday. The win was some much needed relief for the Rams as it spelled an end to their seven-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Whitesburg Christian Academy was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 80-74 to Grissom. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (67), the Warriors still had to take the loss.

Whitesburg Christian Academy now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Asbury, their victory ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-9.

Asbury couldn't quite finish off Whitesburg Christian Academy when the teams last played back in December of 2023 and fell 57-54. Can Asbury avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
