Camarillo has gone a perfect 3-0 against Rio Mesa recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Scorpions will be playing in front of their home fans against the Spartans at 3:30 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Camarillo 3.4, Rio Mesa 3.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Rio Mesa will challenge a team with plenty of momentum: Camarillo extended their winning streak to four on Wednesday. The Scorpions came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 7-6 W against Moorpark. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Scorpions have posted against the Musketeers since April 21, 2022.

Meanwhile, Rio Mesa came up short against Ventura on Tuesday and fell 4-1.

Analia Lopez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on seven hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

Camarillo's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-3. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.6 runs over those games. As for Rio Mesa, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-7.

Camarillo came out on top in a nail-biter against Rio Mesa in their previous matchup back in May of 2021, sneaking past 7-6. Do the Scorpions have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Spartans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
