Basketball Recap: Belmont Comes Up Short

Belmont lost against River Ridge back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Belmont Braves fell 68-55 to the River Ridge Timberwolves. While losing is never fun, the Braves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 321st, while the Timberwolves are ranked 101st).

Belmont's loss dropped their record down to 9-12. As for River Ridge, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 18-2.

Coming up, Belmont will head out on the road to take on Shullsburg at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Belmont's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five contests. As for River Ridge, they will welcome Highland at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
