Basketball Recap: Forest Park Snaps Five-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Forest Park fought the good fight in their overtime match against Potomac Senior on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Potomac Senior Panthers by a score of 68-66. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Bruins have suffered since December 11, 2024.

Amani Asare was his usual excellent self, going 11 of 23 on his way to 34 points and three steals for Potomac Senior. Those 34 points gave Asare a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Medwyn Oduko Authur, who posted ten points and five rebounds.

Forest Park's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-5. As for Potomac Senior, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 12-4.

Forest Park has already played their next game (against Gar-Field), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Potomac Senior will be playing in front of their home fans against Hylton at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Potomac Senior's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while Hylton has been banged up by seven consecutive losses on the road.
