Dayton faced Scio in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Pirates skirted past the Loggers 3-1. The win was nothing new for the Pirates as they're now sitting on five straight.

Dayton pushed their record up to 17-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.5 runs over those games. As for Scio, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 17-1.

Dayton didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 16-1 victory against Santiam Christian on the 6th. As for Scio, they have also already played their next contest, a 21-0 win against Amity on the 6th.
