Baseball Game Preview: Hill Falcons vs. Piedmont Hills Pirates

For the second straight game, Hill will face off against Piedmont Hills. The Falcons will challenge the Pirates at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hill has now lost ten straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since March 11.

Hill fell victim to Piedmont Hills and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They lost 11-0 to the Pirates.

For Piedmont Hills' part, Travis Linane made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over four innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts Linane has posted since back in May of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. He has become a key player for Piedmont Hills: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 4-8 otherwise.

In other batting news, Jake Paskert was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Toby Torres was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.

Piedmont Hills kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in four consecutive contests.

Piedmont Hills has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Hill, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-11.
