Basketball Recap: Ragin Prep Christian Academy Victorious

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Ragin Prep Christian Academy ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. In a tight contest that could have gone either way, they made off with a 66-65 win over the Charleston Collegiate Sundevils. The victory was some much needed relief for the Rams as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Ragin Prep Christian Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Zymir Robinson-Hill, who posted 17 points. Kavontay Rose was another key player, putting up 12 points.

When it comes to explaining why Charleston Collegiate lost, don't look at Thomas Reed. Despite the final result, he went 11 of 22 on his way to 33 points and eight rebounds. Reed's evening made it nine games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Grant Morrison, who put up seven points along with ten assists and four steals.

Ragin Prep Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Charleston Collegiate, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-3.

Ragin Prep Christian Academy will face off against Northside Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Northside Christian Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past six games -- so hopefully Ragin Prep Christian Academy likes a good challenge. As for Charleston Collegiate, they will venture away from home to square off against Calhoun Academy at 6:20 p.m. on Thursday. Calhoun Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.2 points per game this season.
