Baseball Recap: Tocoi Creek Starts Season with Victory Against Mandarin

Tocoi Creek had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They won by a run and slipped past the Mandarin Mustangs 5-4. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Toros also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2024.

Brayden Harris looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits (and not a single walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in February of 2024.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Kamden Milner, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Chase Pate was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

Tocoi Creek wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, an 11-0 win against Matanzas on the 13th. As for Mandarin, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 8-2 loss against Middleburg on the 14th.
