Recap: Jackson Jaguars vs. Lithia Springs Lions

The Jackson Jaguars waltzed into their matchup Friday with three straight wins but they left with four. They claimed a resounding 71-26 win over Lithia Springs on the road. Given Jackson's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 20th, while Lithia Springs is ranked 301st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Leading Jackson to victory were Kennedie Cooper and Taliah Cornish. Cooper dropped a double-double on ten points and ten steals, while Cornish scored 17 points along with five steals. Cooper is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Cayden Cornish was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.

Jackson pushed their record up to 11-1 with that victory, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.8 points per game. As for Lithia Springs, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-9.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Jackson will take on Creekside at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Creekside is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Lithia Springs won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Banneker at 6:00 p.m. on January 6th. Banneker is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
