Antonio Porterfield was a major factor in Simeon's victory over Morgan Park on Monday. Porterfield turned in his biggest game of the season, tossing six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. He is becoming a predictor of Simeon's success: when he allows at most three earned runs the team is 4-1 (and 8-9-1 when he doesn't).

Porterfield's strong effort led Simeon over Morgan Park and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Wolverines are 7-2 against the Mustangs going back to April of 2021, a lead they'll look to extend.
