Volleyball Recap: Cherokee Gets the Win

Cherokee's tournament run continued when they took on Hickory on Saturday. The Braves sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over the Red Tornadoes. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Braves.

Joscelyn Stamper paced Cherokee's offense, picking up ten kills. Stamper got some help from Lilly Lossiah and her 14 assists. Finally, Stamper was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high four blocks.

Cherokee's win bumped their record up to 15-8. As for Hickory, with the defeat, they broke their 11-match winning streak and moved their record to 16-2.

Cherokee didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Enka on the 20th. As for Hickory, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-1 win against North Iredell on the 20th.
