Softball Game Preview: Dike-New Hartford Wolverines vs. South Hardin Tigers

The Dike-New Hartford Wolverines will face off against the South Hardin Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Dike-New Hartford has six straight victories, South Hardin has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

While Dike-New Hartford's win against Grundy Center wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Wolverines sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over the Spartans on Monday. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since June 7, 2019, but that streak is no more.

Meanwhile, South Hardin came up short against Denver on Tuesday and fell 13-10.

Dike-New Hartford pushed their record up to 7-3 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for South Hardin, their loss dropped their record down to 2-9.
