            Baseball Preview: Sterling Tigers vs. Arvada Bulldogs        
        
		
        
        
            The Sterling Tigers will head out on the road to  challenge  the Arvada Bulldogs  at 4:00  p.m.  on Monday. Sterling is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4  runs per game  this season.
On Friday, Sterling beat Weld Central 9-4. The  victory continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Rebels: they've now won three in a row.

 Cooper Burton spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered four earned runs on ten hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in five consecutive appearances.
 At the plate, Sterling let  Ethan Felzien and  Ein Denning run wild. Felzien  earned two  RBI and two  runs, while  Denning  went 2-for-3 with one  stolen base, one  double,  and one  RBI. That's the most  runs  Felzien has posted since back in April of 2024.  Robbie Carrasco also deserves some recognition as  he  snagged his first  stolen base of the season.
Meanwhile, Arvada lost  11-4 to Alameda on Saturday. The Bulldogs haven't had much luck with the Pirates recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.
 Arvada saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Harley Medina, who  went a perfect 2-for-2 with one  stolen base, two  RBI,  and one  run. Another  was  Isaac Martinez, who  got on base  in two of his four plate appearances with two  runs and one  stolen base.
 Arvada's loss dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Sterling, their win bumped their record up to 10-4.
 Sterling suffered a grim  8-2 defeat to Arvada  in their previous matchup  back in April of 2015. Can the Tigers avenge their  defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
