Volleyball Recap: Ozark Comes Up Short

If Ozark was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Heber Springs on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Hillbillies fell 3-1 to the Lavaca Golden Arrows on Monday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Hillbillies of the 3-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 20-25, 25-16, 25-23.

Sydnie Herriage paced Ozark's offense, picking up 20 kills. Herriage got some help from Sara Abulawi and her 37 assists. Abulawi was also solid from the service line: she led the team with six aces.

Ozark has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-11-1 record this season. As for Lavaca, their win bumped their record up to 13-8.

Coming up, Ozark will square off against Clinton at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lavaca, they will challenge Providence Academy at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
