Basketball Recap: LEE Takes a Loss

LEE was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 68-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Johnson Jaguars. While losing is never fun, the Volunteers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 709th, while the Jaguars are ranked 50th).

Johnson's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Marc Anthony, who went 8 for 14 to rack up 22 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. That's the most points Anthony has posted since back in February of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Carter Brown, who put up 13 points and eight boards.

LEE's loss dropped their record down to 7-23. As for Johnson, the win was the 12th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 25-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. LEE will host Madison at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Johnson, they will welcome Churchill at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Johnson is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.2 points per game this season.
