Preview: Lake City Panthers vs. Camden Bulldogs
The Lake City Panthers will be playing at home against the Camden Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Lake City is out to stop a five-game streak of losses at home.
Lake City suffered their biggest loss since December 9, 2023 on Monday. They suffered a tough 76-50 loss at the hands of Crestwood. While losing is never fun, Lake City can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 194th, while Crestwood is ranked 13th).
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Blayne Edwards, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds. Dallas Davis was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Camden was handed a 27-point defeat in their previous outing, but they didn't let that bad energy affect their game against Marlboro County on Friday. Camden skirted past Marlboro County 60-57. The victory was just what Camden needed coming off of a 71-44 defeat in their prior match.
Lake City has not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season. As for Camden, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-10.
Lake City strolled past Camden in their previous matchup back in January of 2023 by a score of 56-39. Will Lake City repeat their success, or does Camden have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
