Soccer Recap: Vintage's Higher State Rank on Full Display on Monday

Vintage won the last time they faced Mt. Diablo and things went their way on Monday too. The Vintage Crushers walked away with a 3-1 win over the Mt. Diablo Red Devils. Given the Crushers' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 302nd, while the Red Devils are ranked 629th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Vintage has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 5-2-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 17 goals over those five games. As for Mt. Diablo, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6-1.

Vintage will take on Napa at 6:00 p.m. on January 14th. As for Mt. Diablo, they will head out to challenge Acalanes at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Acalanes' defense has only allowed 0.5 goals per game this season, so Mt. Diablo's offense will have their work cut out for them.
