            Softball Recap: East Webster Wolverines vs. Mooreville Troopers        
        
		
        
        
            East Webster lost to Mooreville  last Tuesday, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. East Webster came out on top against Mooreville by a score of  7-2.
 Paytan Sanders made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she  struck out six batters over  seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off   seven  hits. That's the most  strikeouts  she has posted since back in February of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box,  going 1-for-2 with one  triple, one  run,  and one  RBI.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Karra Mae Johnson, who  scored a  run while going 2-for-3. That's the most  hits  she has posted since back in February.  Larkin Conner was another key player,  scoring a  run while going 1-for-2.

East Webster's win was  their third straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 12-8. Those  victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Mooreville,  with the  defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-6.
 Coming up, East Webster will look to defend their home field  on Tuesday against South Pontotoc  at 6:30  p.m. As for Mooreville, they will head out on the road to  face off against  Saltillo  at 1:00  p.m.  on Saturday.
