Basketball Preview: Winner Warriors vs. St. Francis Indian Warriors

Winner has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the St. Francis Indian Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Winner scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They took down Cheyenne-Eagle Butte 64-46.

Winner got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Aiden Barfuss out in front who scored 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryder Halligan, who scored 14 points along with two steals.

Meanwhile, St. Francis Indian humbled the Warriors with a 82-50 victory. The victory made it back-to-back wins for St. Francis Indian.

Winner's win was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-4. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.1 points per game. As for St. Francis Indian, the win got them back to even at 7-7.

Everything came up roses for Winner against the Warriors in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 as the squad secured a 76-38 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Winner since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
