Softball Recap: South Cobb Wins Going Away Against Osborne

South Cobb won the last time they faced Osborne and things went their way on Thursday too. The Eagles blew past the Cardinals 19-11. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.

Janiya Fields and Kennedi Williams were major factors no matter where they played. Throwing, Fields struck out seven batters over 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and only one walk). Meanwhile, Williams pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. That's the most strikeouts Fields has posted since back in August. At bat, Fields got on base in two of her five plate appearances with two runs and one RBI, while Williams went 3-for-5 with two runs and two RBI.

In other batting news, Gabby Kitchens and Olivia McDonald did most of the damage at the plate: Kitchens fired off six RBI, two stolen bases, and three runs while going 4-for-5, while McDonald fired off two home runs, six RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-3. Those two home runs gave McDonald a new career-high. Jada Emenalo was another key player, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with four runs and one RBI.

South Cobb kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. They are 6-2 when they post 11 or more hits.

South Cobb's record is now 7-15. As for Osborne, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season.
